Title: Graph Drawing -- current trends and an uncertain future
Abstract: Graph drawing is an established research field sitting at the intersection of theoretical computer science and information visualization. It provides unique opportunities to work simultaneously on foundational algorithmic, geometric, and combinatorial questions and on practical aspects of data visualization for real-world networks. While uncertainty is regularly considered in visualization, there is much less work on its role in the algorithmic foundations of graph drawing. In this talk, I will give an overview of historical and current trends in graph drawing research. I will then turn to the various ways in which uncertainty might enter graph drawing problems, and explore opportunities for uncertain graph drawing to become one of the future trends of graph drawing.

Title: Uncertainty in Computational Geometry: Points, Curves, and Beyond
Abstract:
Motivated by practical issues like imprecise sensor measurements, there is a rich body of work in computational geometry studying geometric problems under uncertainty. In this talk, I will provide an overview of the theoretical landscape of uncertainty in computational geometry.
We will explore established models, ranging from existential uncertainty and imprecise (extremal) models to fully probabilistic settings. The presentation will focus on the algorithmic consequences of these models, illustrating how the computation of classical geometric structures becomes significantly more complex under uncertainty. While most existing work focuses on point sets, we will discuss how these models extend to curves and, ultimately, to more complex objects like graphs in the plane.
